The donkey utility is a calculator for S/KEY one-time passwords. Its main advantage over the traditional key and keyinit tools is its ability to output the key in a simple text form that can easily be sent to a remote server's administrator, thus allowing the initialization of the /etc/skeykeys file without the user logging in to the remote server's console at all. Hence the “donkey” name, which sounds similar to “Don't Key”.
The donkey utility was originally written by Kazuhiko Yamamoto and is now in the process of being adopted by Peter Pentchev.
The donkey homepage is here. It is developed in a Gitorious Git repository: browse or clone.
There have been no Ringlet releases of donkey yet; this page just makes the original source archives available.
