The wmanager utility displays a dialog box listing all the X11 window managers listed in a configuration file. It allows the user to launch one of them and then possibly go back to the WM selection menu.
The wmanager utility was written by Dr. Meik Teßmer; with his kind permission, Peter Pentchev took over as maintainer in 2016.

Use the wmanagerrc-update tool to populate the .wmanagerrc file in your home directory:
wmanagerrc-update
Put the following in your .xinitrc or .xsession file to invoke wmanager once on startup of your X session:
exec wmanager
Put the following in your .xinitrc or .xsession file to invoke the wmanager-loop utility to run wmanager in a loop instead, allowing you to switch between window managers within the same X session:
exec wmanager-loop
